Eminem and Kim met each other very early in highschool. Their relationship was identified with a deep love and hate, that lead to a steady up and down. In December 1996 her daughter Hailie Jade was born, and in summer 1999 they married surreptitious with exclusion of the publicity. The marriage went worse and on July 4th, 2000 an event happened which is supposed to be the last straw: Eminem saw a man (a server called John Guerra) kissing Kim on her mouth on a parking-lot in Detroit . Eminem went to them and stroke the man down with a weapon. Em was arrested by the police and story was published in the press.

Kim was desperate and felt mortified, tried to restore her honesty with an item of written comment. Shortly after that she tried to suicide by slitting her pulse veins. This was the first time Eminem filed for divorce. But they reconciled and started the last attempt to save their marriage, but failed: Kim filed for divorce in March, 2001. (See Eminem Divorce Suite). Kim got 475 000 dollars to buy a new house and they share the custody for Hailie Jade.
